Mobile Response Teams (MRTs) are meant to provide 24/7 emergency behavioral health care to anyone in the state of Florida.
These teams are prepared to meet anyone having a severe emotional or behavioral health crisis in their home, school, or wherever they are.
The goals of MRTs are to reduce trauma, prevent unnecessary psychiatric hospitalizations and criminal justice involvement through de-escalation, appropriate crisis intervention, and connecting people to resources in their communities.
988 has been designated as the new three-digit dialing code that will route callers to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
While some areas may be currently able to connect to the Lifeline by dialing 988, this dialing code will be available to everyone across the United States starting on July 16, 2022.
