We always have questions regarding walking students in to class. The only parents that will be able to walk their students in to class will be Pre-K and Kindergarten. That will occur on the first day of school only at 9:30 am. Parents will come at that time and park in the back lot. Again, this is only for Pre-K and Kindergarten parents.
No other In-Person Meet the Teacher will be held.
Middle Grades Schedule Pick-Up will be held on Friday, 8/6/21 from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm. Teachers will not be available during this time for conferences. Schedules are also available on Skyward on this date if you choose to not pick up a hard copy of the schedule. Students will also receive a new schedule on the first day of school in Homeroom.
We understand that parents of students in Grades 1st – 8th will want to meet with their child’s teacher. Unfortunately, with 1750 students on campus, it simply is not safe or feasible to bring in every student and parent. If your student is in grades 1st – 5th, your child’s teacher will reach out prior to the first day of school for a Zoom meeting to meet your child and give an overview of the upcoming year.
If your child is in grades 6th – 8th, your child will have Zoom meetings with their team on Friday afternoon from 1:00-3:30 PM. Each teacher will hold a 15 minute informational Zoom meeting beginning at 1:00 pm, 1:20 pm, 1:40 pm, 2:00 pm, 2:20 pm, 2:40 pm and 3:00 pm. Each meeting will be 15 minutes long with a 5 minute break for you to log into your next zoom meeting. It is recommended you follow your child’s schedule.
We will consider having individual Grade Level Open Houses after the school year begins. In the event these can be held, the teachers will communicate that information to you.
Safety Protocols for the upcoming year will be as follows: Temperature checks twice per day will be held, Hourly classroom sanitation, sanitation mats at entrances, air scrubbers in cafeteria and high traffic areas, masks are encouraged but not required, and hand sanitizing stations throughout the school.
Our campus will continue to be closed to guests with the exception of certain events which will be announced in advance. We will continue to track and notify parents if there is any COVID quarantines or exposure. Our 48-hour fever-free without medication policy is still in effect for the upcoming year.
Thank you for understanding our desire to keep our school and community safe in the current environment. We will ensure that all of our students make it to class on the first day of school with plenty of staff on hand to help our Mustangs. If you have any individual concerns or questions, please call the school, as no comments will be answered on Facebook or Facebook Messenger. 352-394-2600.
Bus Routes are available on our website at this time. Car Rider procedures will remain the same for the upcoming year and a graphic will be forthcoming.
